Tribal Livelihoods & Agro-Forestry Collective

Tribal Livelihoods & Agro-Forestry Collective

Project Brief:

Empowering forest-dwelling tribal communities with sustainable lac cultivation, wild honey processing, sal plate pressing machines, and organic compost training.

Project Context:

Forest dwellers rely heavily on minor forest produce but often sell raw unrefined produce to intermediaries at unfair rates. Zycon introduces processing equipment to multiply value addition.

Project Goal:

To increase tribal household incomes by 50% through value-added non-timber forest produce and ecological farming.

Project Objectives:

  • •Distribute 50 hydraulic sal leaf plate pressing machines to women's SHGs.
  • •Conduct scientific lac cultivation masterclasses.
  • •Promote community seed banks of native drought-hardy millets.

Project Activities:

Leaf Plate & Product Processing:

Setting up eco-friendly biodegradable dinnerware production units managed by tribal women.

Millet & Agro-Forestry Drives:

Reviving native ragi and millet cultivation for climate-resilient nutrition and market sales.
