Tribal Healthcare & Nutrition Outreach

Tribal Healthcare & Nutrition Outreach

Project Brief:

Mobile medical camps and nutrition supplementation drives in remote forested hamlets of Odisha, focusing on sickle cell screening, malaria prevention, and maternal care.

Project Context:

Indigenous tribal hamlets in hilly regions face severe geographical exclusion from government health centers, leading to high malnutrition and delayed emergency care.

Project Goal:

To improve health indicators and nutritional status in tribal habitations through culturally sensitive mobile clinical visits.

Project Objectives:

  • •Conduct monthly health checkup camps in 15 tribal villages.
  • •Screen for sickle cell trait and endemic nutritional deficiencies.
  • •Distribute free iron, folic acid, and vitamin supplements.

Project Activities:

Mobile Tribal Clinics:

Dedicated medical vans with doctors and diagnostic kits visiting remote weekly haats (village markets).

Nutrition Kits for Mothers:

Providing protein-rich nutrition kits and infant care guidance to expectant and lactating mothers.
